Frequently Asked Questions

Research Training Groups (RTGs) are established by universities to promote early career researchers. They are funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) for a period of up to nine years. The RTG focus lies on the qualification of doctoral researchers within the framework of a focused research programme and a structured training strategy.

In our 4R RTG we are committed to investigate how the regulation of R-loops contributes to robustness and resilience in terms of regulating genome stability (DNA repair and telomere maintenance), gene regulation and RNA processing.

We offer fully funded positions for 48 months. These positions are paid according to 65% TV-L E13 pay scale, or equivalent.

R-loop club is our monthly seminar series, that include talks given by the experts in the R-loop field, as well as presentations by our 4R students. The seminars typically take place on a second-to-last Wednesday of the Month. All our talks take place in person.

We offer funds to attend national (Germany) and international conferences. Moreover, we offer funds to cover a visit of another laboratory up to 2 months abroad. For further details, contact the 4R coordinator.
