“R-loops are interesting three stranded DNA-RNA hybrid structures. I am curious to delve more into the physiological roles of R loops in gene regulation and to elucidate their mechanistic insights inside the cell.”

I want to explore how regulatory R-loops plays a role in epigenetic gene regulation. Stress response protein Gadd45 has been identified as a reader of such regulatory R-Loops. During my PhD, I aim to unravel the mechanism of how Gadd45 and R-loops mechanistically modulate the transcription of the heart development genes via the TET demethylation machinery.

I like cooking and playing Volleyball.
