“The dual role of R-loops fascinates me. They are fragile yet functional, they can threaten the genome or fine-tune its expression. I find it exciting how a single cell sustains this delicate balance between destruction and control.”
My PhD project explores this balance through the lens of GADD45 proteins, recently identified as R-loop readers that connect RNA:DNA hybrids to epigenetic regulation. Using integrative analysis of next-generation sequencing data, I aim to map where GADD45 and R-loops meet across the genome.
I like Yoga and French literature.
